How do you make bathroom tiles shine?

Category: Maintaining your tiles

Dull and dirty bathroom tiles can spell the difference between sanctuary and unsanitary. Exposure to dirt, soap scum, water spots and other environmental factors mean bathroom tiles can lose their shine. Once you’ve purchased your tiles it is important that you care for them in order to keep them looking like new.

General maintenance

Regularly mop or sponge your tiles with a solution of tile cleaner and hot water (follower the tile cleaners’ instructions). Bristol Tile have a range of specialist cleaning products covering the sealing, protection and maintenance of tiles.

For shower tiles and other particularly grimy areas, pour the solution into a spray bottle, spritz and wait around 15 minutes for it to set and wipe clean with a damp sponge.

Be aware it is important to use cleaning products that will not harm the tile surface or the grout.

For added shine, you can dry the area with a microfiber cloth, buffing to a glossy finish.

Staining

Our team will be happy to guide you through this area as we often receive questions around dissolving limestone and water marks, general cleaning, removing mould and lifting general dirt. Our advice will depend on the issue you are faced with so please drop us an email or give us a call.

We also have a range of products that will enhance the natural colour of your tiles, plus those that expertly clean stone worktops, remove dirt and algae from outdoor stones.

Grouts

Don’t forget your grout! Shiny tiles look bad when surrounded by dirty grout. Clean stained grout using a specialist grout cleaner to restore the grout without causing it to breakdown.
